The linkage is defined by the number of pivots between the frame and the axle. To consider a suspension type to be multiple pivot, more than one pivot has to affect the axle path which is not the case in the simple 4-bar design.

The 4-bar linkage that Kona uses is usually referred to as a "faux-bar" because it resembles the 4-bar Horst linkage, but is still effectively a single pivot. The only purpose of the "multiple" links is to provide more flexibility in actuating the shock. Frames like Rocky Mountain's RMX are definitely single-pivot designs, and have just as many bars and pivots as the Kona 4-bar.

That said, it is worth differentiating between a basic single pivot like the Cannondale Gemini or SC Bullit and a 4-bar linkage like Kona's because of how the shock is actuated, but it is deceiving to label it a multi-pivot when in fact it is really just a link-actuated single-pivot.

Seraph, actually it IS a single pivot design due to the location of the axle being on the chain stay. You are correct about the concentric bottom bracket though - the chain length is constant regardless of where the suspension is in its range of motion.

I didn't get a chance to get the pics. I disassembled the bike a while ago to clean and have been slow to getting it back together. I won't be able to until Sunday now, at which point I'll get more pics. I suppose I could take some now, but they would be without the drivetrain and brakes installed.

I'll tell ya, I'm 6' and I loved riding it.
But I tend to ride smaller bikes as I find them easier to throw around on the trail.

It all depends on frame. For instance, the Kona Stinky (size small) comes stock with a 350lb spring. What frame do you have?

I've travelled all over the country, and love it there... I definitely want to go back soon, but the next time I make my way to europe, I'll be bringing my bike!

The Garbanzo models are just custom bikepark-specific builds (not necessarily better or worse than the regular builds).

I've had about 4 bikes stolen. One was my fault, I left it outside for a minute, and it was gone. Another they cut the lock open... and the other two, they broke into my house. It's f*ckin' balls.

Hope you find it man, and make sure you castrate those f*ckers.

Seems like the top tube might bend pretty easily if you landed anything on your ass. I'm pretty interested in getting an SWD but am just curious about that. Ever hear of anybody bending the shit out of that?

Have you ever tried selling anything in your life before? No one ever expects to get exactly what they ask. You have to start the price somewhere. If you ask 800, you'll get 650. Thats how it works.

Thanks for the enlightening comment.
